Graduate Assistant, PSU, College of Arts and Architecture (eLearning Institute) | January 2015 – August 2018
I provide research support (interviews, focus groups, analysis, etc.) to enhance the development of the department’s authentic online virtual studio. This analysis will evaluate the program's effectiveness for learners, instructors, and instructional designers. I also work with faculty to convert their face-to-face course(s) to 100% online delivery and assist in expanding the department’s electronic learning management system (ELMS).
Senior Learning Design and Developer, Affiliates Risk Management Services, Inc. | March 2014– April 2016
Learning Developer, Affiliates Risk Management Services, Inc. | November 2011 – March 2014
My main role was collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) in the healthcare field to design and develop eLearning courses and instructor-led training for deployment via the company’s learning management system (LMS). I followed Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements and ensured my eLearning course scripts followed adult learning principles. Being an advocate of human performance improvement, I performed self-checks and quality insurance (QA) checks on all courses. Additional responsibilities I mastered include editing professionally recorded audio and loading and deploying courses for learners on the LMS. I collaborated with my team on the department’s visual style for all print-based and electronic material, including creating templates, flyers, and brochures. Other projects I worked on were designing and developing the course catalog, numerous graphic designs, and various marketing collateral, including logos, icons for the LMS, webinar decks, ARMS Annual Reports, brochures, banner announcements, and Flash splash pages.
Instructional Designer, S2 Learning | September 2010 – November 2011
In this role, I collaborated with SMEs to design and develop instructor-led training, eLearning courses, and educational presentations. I developed training workshops, facilitator guides, webinar decks, and job aids for high-profile clients, including Mercer and Marsh & McLennan. I performed and mastered scriptwriting and storyboard development for each of my eLearning projects. I strengthened my project management expertise when I took on a lead role in managing 15 SMEs to design and develop an educational presentation for the Hydraulic Institute.
Intern, Vertical Learning Curve | May 2010 – August 2010
My responsibilities included investigating and selecting SCORM-compliant software, researching and writing a script for a sexual harassment course, and identifying and incorporating edits to improve existing courses. One of my course enhancements was to improve user interactivity and user-controlled learning paths based on a 3D virtual reality. One of my major projects included collaborating with a team to develop and build a SCORM-compliant module for an MBA course on leadership skills.
eLearning Designer & Developer (Consultant), Horizon Media | September 2009 – May 2010
As a consultant, I produced and developed an eLearning course using Adobe Flash. My responsibilities included researching content, writing a script, developing the layout, and designing the graphics.
Graphic Design Intern, Mulholland Drive Entertainment | May 2008 – October 2008
I utilized Adobe Illustrator to design and develop many projects, such as the window design for YouTube at the LA Film Festival, “one-sheet” for Heineken®, and company documents and invitations.
Instructional Design Intern, Karl Storz Endoscopy-America | May 2008 – August 2008
I produced an eLearning course for the sales force by working with SMEs to write and edit the script, recording professional voice-overs, and designing and developing instructional inter-activities and graphics.
